Car rental

Traveling around Madeira using public transport is possible, but it can be challenging. We cooperate with 4 great local car rental companies.

Your benefits 

• You can pay in cash in EUR or by card (debit or credit).
• No mileage limit.
• The rental price includes insurance (SCDW or Full Insurance). Alternatively, there is a cheaper option without insurance (CDW) but with a deposit. However, we recommend choosing SCDW or Full Insurance to avoid unexpected financial costs.
• Pick up and return of the vehicle on the East side of the island – at ​​the airport, Machico, Santa Cruz, Caniço and Funchal is included in the price. If you choose to pick up or return your vehicle anywhere else, there’s an additional fee of €25 for transport.
• If you choose to pick up or return the vehicle outside working hours, 8:00-19:00, expect to pay a fee of €25.
• To rent a vehicle, you only need a valid driver’s license and your ID or passport.
• A child seat and inclusion of a second driver are available on request (an additional fee may apply).
